Femi Team Profile ♥ Zuza Witych

How did you start your freesking adventure?
I have been skiing since I was 3 years old but I grew up in the center of Poland, far away from the mountains so there was no chance to ride a lot. Once my friends showed me the video about freestyle skiing and I instantly have fallen in love. I asked my parents for my first twin-tip skis, and that's how it all started.

Was it hard to start freesking?
Not at all. I was super motivated and excited to spend every day on snow, but besides that there were some small incoveniences like distance to the mountains, bruises and sometimes painfull crushes :)

Does freesking is popular in your country?
Comparing to western Europe it’s still not so popular in Poland but it's getting bigger and bigger.

What man- part of the snow community think about girls like you? Do you compete with each other?
I ride mostly with the guys, they are supporting me and I can always count on them when I'm learning new tricks, so I think there is no competition, they are all like older brothers to me.

What would be your advice for the girls who want to start journey with freeski?
I would say that If they want to be freeskiers they should be brave and always try to push themselves everytime they get on the slope. At the same time they shouldn’t go too hard when they are not feeling confident to not hurt themselves.

What does it mean to you? What do you owe to that sport?
In this point of my life freesking is the love of my life, so it means A LOT. Thanks to the sport I have now bunch of friends who share the same passion as me. I also appreciate travelling all over the world and seeing places I couldn’t see If I wouldn’t be a skier.

If there would be now snowboard/ surfing/ kiteboarding, what would you do?

I’m addicted to adrenaline so I think I would be doing any other extreme sport. Back in the days when I was very little I was really into skateboarding, but when my parents saw me hitting concrete in front of my grandma’s house, they weren’t really happy about my passion.

Sport is a great adventure, for sure. But also it is a really hard work. Have you ever regret that you chose that way of life?
Never! There are so many great things about that lifestyle, but there are sometimes hard moments for example when you are injured, for me the hardest one was when I had some serious problems with my spine and my doctor said that it is not sure If I’ll be able to continue riding or doing any other sports in the future. Hopefully I’m still here and I’m not going anywhere :)

What is your best memory from your sport adventure/trip?
Almost every trip is awesome thanks to great crew I'm riding with. I would say that one of the best memories I’ve ever had was my trip to Vars (France) last season, We had perfect park conditions, perfect shaped kickers, we did some very nice shooting and filming with the best homies ever.

 What are your luggage essentials?
All I need is toothbrush, skipass and all my Femi hoodies, because I always have problems which one should I choose so I take them all, oh and a pair of skis. :)

What do you do in your free time between your trips and trainings? Do you even have time for some social or family life?
Winter is always very busy, but I can still find some time for studying and visiting my home town to hang out with my family. Most of my friends are skiers or snowboarders so it’s not that hard to keep in touch during the season.

What do you love the most about Femi Pleasure stuff/brand?
Femi Pleasure brand was made by girls who exactly knows what girl like me needs, all the products are super comfy and cool at the same time. I am really happy to ride for a brand which makes all the stuff with love. :)
