Femi team profile ♥ Kasia Lange
Girls, we are proud to introduce new posts series into Femi blog: Femi team profiles. Each week we will introduce you to one of our amazing teamriders. These girls are always inspiration for us and their lifestyle represent the essence of Femi Pleasure - freedom, non-conformist choices, struggle for perfection and overcoming challenges, often in a very male dominated world of extreme sports.
If you're curious how they have become kitesurfers/ snowboarders or freeskiers - now youe have a chance to get to know them ♥
Today, first team profile - Katarzyna Lange!
♥ How did you
start your kitesurfing adventure?
It all
started with falling in love 6 years ago… My boyfriend is an kiteboarding
instructor and I visited him once when he was working in Egypt. One day he
showed me how to fly a kite, on second day I got a board and immediately
started riding! It took me 3 hours to become independent. From that time I was
learning pretty fast.
♥ Was it hard
to start kitesurfing?
Not at all.
I had it in my veins.
♥ Is kitesurfing popular in your country?
It’s super
popular in Poland, we have a great
kiteboarding spot at polish seaside, and polish kiteboarder girls are ripping
it around the world, one even
having a world champion title!
♥ What man-
part of the kite community think about girls like you? Do you compete with
each other?
It depends,
but many of them are very supportive seeing that us girls can also push it hard
and extend our limits, especially lately. There’s still a difference in between
kiteboarding level of man and woman, but girls ride with much more power now
than few years ago, and we gain a lot by riding together with guys.
♥ What would
be your advice for the girls who want to start journey with kite?
Go for it !
You don’t need a lot of preparations, if you feel fit, ride a bike, swim, or
jog it’s enough, just book a course and you’ll learn fast and safe.
♥ What does
it mean for you? What do you owe to that sport?
First of
all I just love what I do! Every training is fun, learning new tricks is a
challenge and it’s amazing feeling when you finally make it. Kiteboarding is
part of my life, my passion and my job. I can’t imagine life without kite !
♥ If there
would be no kiteboarding, what would you do?
Not good. I
would definitely surf.
♥ Sport is a
great adventure, for sure. But also it is a really hard work. Have you ever
regret that you chose that way of life?
No, it’s
worth every moment.
♥ What is
your best memory from your sport adventure/trip?
Oh there’s
so many.. I travel a lot, visit beautiful places, meet lots of happy people,
have lots of funny stories.. Maybe if I have to choose one I will always
remember my first steps, cause this is how it all began, first splash under my
board and the amazing feeling at that moment.
♥ What are
your luggage essentials?
Except of
gear - my little makeup kit, sunscreen, sunglasses, laptop, spare screws, comfy
cloths.
♥ What do you
do in your free time between your trips and trainings? Do you even have time
for some social or family life?
Rarely, but
when I do I always go home to spend time with my family. I love my home, I have
big family and it’s growing bigger now, so it’s always fun !
They know
exactly what girls love ! Having new ideas all the time they find my way of
wearing clothes, not only as an athlete but also as a girl, they’re cute, comfy
and original.
